Savannah Jazz Festival - JOCELYN GOULD WITH THE USC LEFT BANK BIG BAND

2021 JUNO Award winner, Jocelyn Gould, has been called “a leader in the next generation of great mainstream jazz guitarists” by Howard Paul, CEO of Benedetto Guitars.  Her joyful sound has been influenced by jazz guitar greats Wes Montgomery, Grant Green, Joe Paa, and Kenny Burrell, among others.  Jocelyn has recorded and performed internationally with GRAMMY-nominated vocalist Freddy Cole, JUNO-winning trumpeter and vocalist Bria Skonberg, Michael Dease, Etienne Charles, Randy Napoleon, and Diego Rivera.  Her debut album, “Elegant Traveler”, won the 2021 JUNO Award for Jazz Album of the Year.

The Left Bank Big Band, under the direction of Dr. Matthew White, is the premiere ensemble of the University of South Carolina Jazz Studies Program. Performing a variety of musical styles that represents the rich and varied history of big band performance and improvised music, they have recently performed with Michael Dease, Mimi Jones, and various other jazz luminaries.  In Summer 2025, the ensemble will tour Europe with invitations to perform at the Vienne (France), Montreux (Switzerland), and Umbria (Italy) jazz festivals.
